She Gathers

The ladies at She Captivates have big dreams.

Our dreams include creating a connected network of Jesus-loving women who can empower, encourage, and pray for one another. And we believe that begins exactly where we are.

For that reason, we started something cool last weekend. It’s called She Gathers.

Imagine this: Once a month you look forward to getting together with some gal pals in a setting that’s comfortable for everyone with a conversation that revolves around the greatness of our God. It’s no frills, no fuss. Simple, authentic, and 100% what you need it to be. Some months there are tears. Every month there is laughter. And between the gatherings, you deepen relationships, spur on one another toward your individual goals, and uplift one another with the love of Christ.

It’s just a group of women gathering. She Gathers. And you are she. And so are we.

Here are some testimonies from the past weekend:

God is so good! Since, this was the first She Gathers we had no idea how many ladies would show up. We saw new faces and familiar ones this time around and it was wonderful. Altogether there was 14 of us ladies at She Gathers. Many ladies opened up about trusting God in their lives. The trust subject even brought up trusting God when we hear Him telling us to do something specifically. It just showed that we can truly trust the Lord in all sorts of situations and feelings that arise throughout our lives. All in all it was a great start to She Gathers and the ladies are all anticipating and preparing for the next meet up in April. Penticton, B.C. - Canada

I honestly didn’t know what to expect from inviting a seemingly random and disconnected group of ladies to one place to discuss and encourage each other in our faiths. But God showed up, and it was awesome! It was evident that we were all in different phases of our journeys but that the message of trusting God was something we all needed and something we all had struggles with. It was raw and real at times, but I think that as a whole we were able to support one another, uplift one another, and just say “I get it” to one another. That’s powerful stuff. I hope that the friendships started in a coffee shop continue to grow in beautiful and tangible ways for the Lord’s glory!

Macon, GA - USA

It was a blessed time indeed. We shared fellowship, and built each other up through proclaiming the truth of scripture and praying for one another afterwards. The topic of Trust brought about a discussion that included sharing our personal experience with trusting others, and particularly with trusting God. All of us gathered have been trusting God for the majority of our lives, but our levels of trust in Him have varied throughout our journeys. We discussed how God is worthy of our deepest trust, and yet we certainly do not due Him justice in this matter. In going to the cross, Jesus demonstrated a perfect trust in the Father, and He set for us the ultimate example. From our gathering, I trust we are each feeling a sense of refreshed desire to trust our Lord more completely. We are looking forward to the next She Gathers event, and hope to gain a few more eager souls to learn and grow together.

Vernon, BC - Canada

For our first ever gathering, we met in 3 separate cities and welcomed 24 women (and a few babies) to the discussion of what it means to trust God.

One of the biggest takeaways was this: “It’s what we do when we question or doubt that makes the difference”. Because questioning and doubting is very human and so are we. But God is good and trustworthy, and Jesus gave the most beautiful example of trust we could ask for when he died on the cross for us. Talk about being all in for God’s purposes!

We pray that March 2017 is just the beginning, and we pray that you will have the opportunity to join us as a community of women. Our prayer is to build a network of Jesus-loving women to further his purposes and ensure that women all over have the joy of community in their lives!
