After switching college majors from nursing to psychology and realizing I would not be working with babies in that capacity, I searched for a way to be involved in the world of pregnancy, labor, and birth. That is when I found DONA International. After months of prayer and debating, I joined DONA. Since then the road has been long and slow but I am continuing on with my journey. Supporting women during this most important time of their lives is my passion. I am an Army Wife, which is something I never thought I’d say. For reasons that I’m sure will be revealed later, I made a promise to myself early on to never marry a man in the military. And God laughed. There are so many times in life where our plans do not match up with God’s and I thank Him for that. Falling in love with and marrying hubby was the most obvious of those times for me. It took me a few months to come around to the idea of hubby pursuing a career in the Army. Once I did, however, I did everything I could to support him.
